Evaluation Q2

This video shows evaluation question 2 which we showed a range of posters what we had produced. I personally thought Jakes was very good as it looked like a real film poster as it was very professional! The layout and colour choices stood out and were very eye catching as I feel audiences would be drawn to this poster because it is bold. I also used similar bold colours in my own poster choosing colours of yellow, red and white which I thought contrasted really well! I think colour is a very important feature on a film poster as it is what catches the readers eye especially audiences who are particularly interested in romance/comedy genre films that match the film poster.

Final Double Page Spread

Final Poster

This is my final poster. After many previous drafts I finally completed my final poster. I used Photoshop to create this poster which was easier then other programs as having used it frequently in AS during creating my music magazine. Before creating the poster I researched other short film posters of romance genre and comedy genre and tried to combine them together and create a poster with a hybrid of romance/comedy genre. I chose the colours black, red, yellow and white as they contrast with the photos and makes the two main characters stand out which enhances there importance in the film. The title is also made eye catching to the audience so it catches there attention and makes them interested to want to watch the film.

Evaluation Q4

Evaluation question 4 was about how did we use new media technologies in the construction and research planning and evaluation stages. This included using various programs such as Blogger, YouTube, the internet (mainly Google), Globster, Prezi, IMovie, Photoshop, InDesign, Final Cut Pro, Soundcloud and Garageband. I found this was different to AS as there was a lot more various programs I had to learn about in order to complete all of my work. However, once using them I found them easier to work on then I thought and having worked on a lot of programs this allowed me to present my work from a various of programs showing I have learned a lot more skills progressing to A2.

Evaluation Q3

This is the script we used to conclude our audience feedback and made notes on what we learned and what helped us from the audience feedback.

In this I thought that our film did go very well and that everything went as planned. We achieved everything we wanted and took in all feedback which was much appreciated as it helped us be aware of the scenes that didn't look as good and the points that were noticed by the audience were taken into consideration as we wanted to know how well they thought of the film as well. I think mainly what I thought went well the most was portraying the romantic/comedy side of the film. Although we could have made the comedy a bit more obvsious all the nessessary funny parts of the film were made funny  naturally as it went well with the film as a whole. When editing it at the end we noticed this. Having the audience feedback also enabled us to see what we would have changed about the film and made us improve our skills as it made us more aware. Overall I am proud with the final film and think it couldn't have gone better.

We then recorded ourselves reading back out the audience feedback.

Poster Ideas

These were some of the poster ideas I started off with before I chose to add a lot more detail, colour and made the text a lot better so it stood out to the audience.
